All About Charlotte McGregor

Welcome to my world! I’m Charlotte McGregor—an author with two great loves: the misty magic of the Scottish Highlands and the wild, soulful waters of the Salish Sea.

Scotland will always be my first story-home (even if I occasionally tease tartan traditions and those seemingly bottomless whisky casks). That’s why many of my romances take place in the quaint fictional village of Kirkby, tucked into the rugged landscape near legendary Loch Ness.

But every now and then, my heart follows a different call—one that comes with salt air, cedar-scented forests, and the deep exhale of whales at the surface. That longing sparked my Songs of the Salish Sea series: stories of new beginnings, fierce tenderness, and the kind of love that feels as vast as the ocean.

In real life, I don’t live in the Highlands or on the Pacific coast—I’m based in a bustling city far away. My pianist husband Ian and our slightly naughty (but irresistible) Airedale Terrier Scotty keep me grounded… while my imagination travels wherever the stories are waiting.
